Just Wait

When things were not going well my aunt would say.

“Just wait. As soon as you get to the end, the beginning opens up.”

As a young girl, I didn’t understand her cursory predictions.

But now I do.

Every negative experience affects our outlook for the future. Several negative experiences darken our spirits and bring shadows across our otherwise bright present. We can’t see what is just ahead of us. We can only see what has gone before us, and we lose hope that anything will change.

My aunt proposed that the past is leading us to a new beginning pregnant with seeds for the spring blossoming.

“Just wait. As soon as you get to the end, the beginning opens up.”
